Grasses

This is an oil painting I began in an art class in February and finished in March.  I tried to think of ways to make it look better, but as I saw it around the house day after day, it grew on me.  So I'm keeping it as it is.  For best color representation, it needs to be enlarged.

The painting is from one done by noted Canadian artist Jack Leonard Shadbolt, which he called "Autumn Grasses."  I liked the carefree, almost frivilous look of his.  Mine didn't turn out anything like, of course.

I like the bright blue of the sky and the multi-colored grasses. I know the feeling of hating a painting one day and being pleasantly surprised after taking a little break from it.

Wide strokes...earth tones....just the way it's most comfortable for me to work - nice blog.

Thank you for the positive comments you left for me...Why do other peoples words serve as so much inspiration? ....perhaps one of my many flaws with respect to my approach to art. It's important to hear what others have to say about what I tell myself moves me.

I thank you for your input, and, incidentally....your work reminds me very much of mine.

Keep painting...practicing...serving brush time....

Best to you..
